The app adds a checkbox to the cart page so that customers can click it before checkout. The checkbox shows the online store’s terms and conditions and has an “I agree” button. Store owners can customize the button if they want. If customers don’t click the checkbox and click checkout instead, they get an alert. The alert reminds them to agree to the terms and conditions before checkout. Store owners can customize the message on the alert as well. The text on the checkbox, terms and conditions link, and the alert can be in any language.
Customers can also see the checkbox if they click on any other CTA to buy products like the “Buy It Now” button. The app supports all checkout buttons such as Paypal, Amazon Pay, Shopify Payments, Google Pay, Apple Pay, etc. The app won’t let customers proceed to checkout if they don’t agree to the terms and conditions. Store owners can also choose to display the checkbox for some products and leave it out for others.
Once customers click the checkbox, the app saves the consent date and time. It then adds that along with the terms and conditions to the order details section. Store owners can add this information to email confirmation templates, invoices, and packing slips.
The Rich Text Editor feature allows store owners to design the checkbox text. They can also include trust badges and images. If store owners want additional features in the app, they can request the Effective Apps team through email.
The app can be set up with one click. It supports all Shopify themes and doesn’t add any code to them. It comes with a paid plan at $2.99/mo. Although there is no free plan, store owners can try the app grabing its 7-day free trial.
